Built on Family. Inspired by Generations.

Four generations. Nearly 70 years. A legacy of homes built with care.

In 1955, AJ McMurphy Sr. started McMurphy Homes—and McMurphy Real Estate—in Baton Rouge, LA. Two years later, his son, AJ McMurphy Jr., joined him. Together, they grew the business and, in 1960, brought McMurphy Homes to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, developing neighborhoods like Ancient Oaks that are still cherished today.

AJ “Bo” McMurphy joined the family business in 1995, becoming the third generation of homebuilders. Today, he carries on the tradition, strengthening McMurphy Homes’ presence on the Gulf Coast while guiding the company’s expansion into the Raleigh, NC area.

Bo’s son, Mac (AJ McMurphy IV), has joined the family legacy—and he’s already introducing his three boys to the business. From job sites to the office, the fifth generation is getting an early start.

At McMurphy Homes, building homes isn’t just business—it’s family, it’s community, and it’s a legacy that lasts.
