McMurphy Homes

Built on Family. Inspired by Generations.

McMurphy Homes began in 1955 when AJ McMurphy Sr. set out to build homes where families
could thrive. His son, AJ Jr., carried that vision forward, and together they left their mark on the
Mississippi Gulf Coast—shaping iconic neighborhoods like Broadmoor in Baton Rouge, Ancient
Oaks in Biloxi that are still loved today.

Bo McMurphy grew up in the middle of it all. As a teenager, he jumped into the family business,
learning the ropes in Biloxi before spending decades leading homebuilding teams across the
country. Today, he continues the family tradition—rooted in the Gulf Coast, with McMurphy
Homes also proudly serving families in the Raleigh, NC area.

Bo’s son, Mac (AJ McMurphy IV), grew up on job sites, interning through high school and
college before gaining management experience outside the company. Since 2022, he’s been back
full time—building alongside his dad and learning every facet of the business.

And if you see Mac’s three little boys tagging along on job sites or “helping” at the office, that’s
the fifth generation already getting an early start. Around here, building homes isn’t just
work—it’s family life.
